Kurai Stool by Deevie Vermetten for Fermetti
Kurai Stool by Deevie Vermetten for Fermetti
The Kurai Collection consists of a solid oak dining table, two benches and two stools finished with the Shou Sugi Ban technique.
Burning the wood creates an intense black color and at the same time protects it against wind and weather.
This old Japanese technique increases the lifespan and is therefore very suitable for outdoor furniture.
The robust collection aims to make a bridge between form and craft. The geometric lines reduce this collection to the essence: Pure, brutal and no-nonsense.
This Kurai Dining Set was designed for stylist Katleen Willaert and photographer Jochen Verghote, together www.lucidlucid.com. They were looking for outdoor furniture for their holiday home Les Castors, an old farmhouse in the Ardennes in Belgium. They did not find their way anywhere within the range between sleek slim design or rustic rural and they consulted Deevie Vermetten from Fermetti. Together they came up with this design: sustainable, tough and minimal at the same time.
Fermetti is a custom studio with its own production workshop in Lille, near Antwerp. They design interiors, furniture, exhibition stands and offline brand experiences with a focus on sustainable and high-quality materials. Their creative approach always results in an original design tailored to your way of life or professional project.
