Sabine Vermetten

Sabine Vermetten is a Belgian ceramist. She founded her own atelier ‘Ateljee SV’ in the inspiring surroundings of the studio of Atelier Belge.
A few years ago she started to study ceramics at the IKO art academy. Now she is completing her studies with her project Dancing Stones. These ceramic sculptures are inspired by dancing figures.
A hobby became a passion.

‘I like simple and pure shapes. Less is more. I want to create shapes that gives peace and strength at the same time. I make large sculptures that stand firmly on their own. They are abstract with organic shapes and a rough texture, they also have a warm appearance due to their curves, which also provides a sense of security for me.’
