T1 Dining Table by Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax
Willy Van Der Meeren designed this dining table, model T1, for Tubax in 1954.
The three-legged frame is made of black and red painted metal tubes, the top is covered with a marble-printed formica.
This table is in good vintage condition.
This T1 is complete original of the 1950s.
I arrived at this design because I hate those endless extension pieces that get stuck and always have to be stored somewhere. A table is more stable on three legs and the American and Norwegian prefabricated boards – 1,22 x 2,44 m – enable you to make 2 large and 2 small table-tops, plus 2 tops for bedside cabinets, without any waste. The table with extension pieces is replaced by 2 separate tables, one for the dining area and the other to work on. They can be put together for a larger group.
