Alvar Aalto designed Table 81A for Artek in the 1950s. Artek is a Finnish furniture manufacturer that Aalto co-founded in 1935.

The table is made of solid birch wood, which is masterfully bent into the timeless leg design seen on other pieces in this series, such as Stool 60 and Chair 68. The tabletop has a black linoleum finish.

The woodwork is in good condition. The tabletop sags slightly. The linoleum finish shows signs of wear consistent with its age.

The table is marked.
