Tulip Dining Set by Eero Saarinen for De Coene/ Knoll

With the Pedestal Collection, Eero Saarinen resolved the “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” underneath tables and chairs. The collection is produced by Knoll International since 1957.
Since 1954 the Belgian Company De Coene produced and distributed the design collection for Knoll Int. in the Benelux.
This set can be dated in 1972 and is a production from De Coene. We’ve bought it from the first owner.
The table has a formica top that rests on the typical cast aluminum white lacquered tulip pedestal base.  It is in good vintage condition, wear consistent with age and use. The table top has some minor damages and scratches.
The chairs feature seat shells in molded fiberglass that are fixed on a cast aluminum tulip pedestal base. The old pink – brown velvet cushions are re-upholstered by the previous owner and still in good condition.. The chairs are dated 26 January 1972.
