Bronze Skull Sculpture
This bronze skull sculpture can be dated in the late 20th century. The bronze skull was made with the lost-wax casting methode. The model must have been a real human skull.
The skull is made in 2 parts: the skull and the lower jaw. The lower jaw is signed MCM NY and was possibly made by Maxilla & Mandible in New York.
The skull refers to Vanitas and Memento Mori. It reminds people of there mortality.
This skull is in perfect condition, a nice piece for a curiosity cabinet.
